INTERCEPTION is the fifth short story in The Angel of Death series by Irma Fritz and the second one I've read. Now I'm looking forward to all the others.
Book Beginning:
I always tell women I'm not the marrying kind, even though I was married once. Otherwise, it would only encourage them to think I might try again.
Friday 56:
I had planned to ask Skip nicely to clear out so my college chum and I could talk over old times, but as he stood there looking so smug, something in me snapped. When I hit him, I caught him square on the jaw. Not too hard, but he went down. [from 56% on my Kindle]
INTERCEPTION is FREE on Amazon
Friday, March 21, through Sunday, March 23
Length: 18 Pages
Amazon Link: Interception (The Angel of Death)

The hero is such a jerk. Irma Fritz did a great job of creating a guy you love to hate.
DeleteSo true, Lianne, like when he asks Betty the kind of question that gets a guy a slap in the face nine times out of ten!
DeleteWow! Sounds like a bad -ass!!!!
ReplyDeleteHe sure is.
DeleteYes, you pegged him!
Deletei don't usually read sports-related fiction, but I might make an exception in this case.

There aren't any football game scenes. It's more about Jackson's mind set and his attitudes toward women. His faults cause his demise.
DeleteHi Catherine,
DeleteHope you take a look. There isn't much about football but, as Sandra says, football has made our hero the self-absorbed person he is. But the story is about passion, one-sided love, and revenge.
Jackson surely sounds like a jock! Also wondering why the series is called The Angel of Death! Might check it out on Amazon! Thanks for sharing :) Hope you have a great weekend! My Friday post

He's a jock and a jerk, and that makes him an interesting character IMO.
DeleteHi Juli! As Sandra says, jock & jerk. He wants his cake and eat it too!
DeleteSounds like an interesting character if not a completely likable one. Since it's free, I might check it out.
ReplyDeleteHe's definitely NOT likeable!
DeleteHi Bea!
DeleteThe story is about love and revenge...and a bit naughty! Hope you'll have a chance to download this short while it's free.
Wonderful opening! I am gonna check it out!

DeleteHi Gautami!
DeleteThanks for your interest. I checked out your blog and left a comment. Oh, sorry, actually left 2 by mistake!
I especially like the comment about not being the marrying kind...and the reason he says that. This one sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good story and a quick read.
DeleteHi Laurel-Rain,
DeleteThe last bachelor left standing!
I love free on Amazon. I just went over and got the story. My poor TBR pile. Here is my post: Mixed Book Bag
ReplyDeleteI think you'll enjoy this story. I know what you mean about TBR piles! How many stories can a Kindle hold?
DeleteHi JC,
DeleteThanks for your interest in my writing. I hope you'll enjoy "Interception." It's a bit naughty and more than a bit dangerous!
I had the pleasure of reading this short story. Lots of fun! Thanks for sharing!

DeleteHi A!
DeleteHi, so glad you enjoyed my new offering in my "The Angel of Death" collection.
I've never read a book like this. I tend to stick to historical fiction and romance. I am heading right over to Amazon to get a copy and sit down this afternoon out in the sun. great Share.

This short story is a different genre for me too, especially since it's told from a man's point of view. I think you'll enjoy this fun escape.
Deletehi cmoh,
Deletehope you had a good read in the spring sun!
Great teasers here, Sandy. Something I've always appreciated about you is how terrifically supportive you are of other writers. You go, girl!

DeleteThe synopsis made me think of that Sandra Bullock movie, The Blind Side, for some reason... lol
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
If you read Irma's story, you'll see that it's quite different from The Blind Side. Thank you for stopping by and for hosting The Friday 56 every week.
Deletehi fredamans,
Deleteyou were thinking of Blind Side because of football player. I never read the book, but loved the movie!
Thanks so much, Sandra, for featuring me on your blog today. I'm a great fan of your writing -- and your Texas twang!
ReplyDeleteAnd a special thanks to all of you who visited today and took the time to leave your thoughts about my new Kindle short, "Interception." It's the fifth in my "The Angel of Death" collection of short stories. All of them are different as I have tried to have varying voices, themes, time periods, and points of view. Deletehmmmm so this is a guy I am hoping the reader ends up liking by the end of the story, no? He's kinda a jerk right now! lol
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely NOT a romance!
DeleteInteresting snippet. The synopsis promises this guy an interesting journey.
