Teaser Tuesday - Snow Fence Road

18089323
I'm only partway into SNOW FENCE ROAD, and I'm loving it. The descriptions of the small town in Maine are beautiful, the characters are intriguing, and the plot and subplots have captured me. I've also found the book to be free of typographical and grammatical errors, which is always appreciated.

Teaser (from 1% on my Kindle):
As he nosed the car into the Inn's lot, Evan saw Claire coming out the side door from the kitchen, hurrying away from the sprawling old wooden structure at her brisk pace, auburn curls tossing in the March breeze. He'd once teased her that she had "two speeds--here and gone."

Isn't that a great description of a character?

Genre: Women's Fiction/Romance
Length: 169 Pages
Amazon Link: Snow Fence Road

Synopsis from Goodreads:
A village on the coast of Maine holds painful secrets- the kind only the miracle of new love can heal. Tormented by her fiance's death, Tess Johansen escapes to the only place that can still comfort her-the Spinnaker Inn in coastal Maine. Here in this place by the sea she feels close enough to the man she lost to numb the pain, if not the guilt. For local craftsman, Evan Marston, the ramshackle inn serves only as a grim reminder of the accident that shattered his life and killed the woman he once loved. But while the Spinnaker's walls may hold guilt and grief and suspicion, they might also house a bright new spark. Drawn together by a love they never expected, Tess and Evan begin to unravel the mysteries of their pasts and question the miracle at work in their wounded hearts-until one fateful evening along a snow fence road.

    1. When my son was little, I'd say he had two speeds: full throttle and complete stop. I like this author's description too.

    1. The weather was cold and snowy in this story, but that just made the wood fires cozier... and romantic.

  15. Hi Sandra,

Great descriptive and very visual teaser lines, although I am not sure that this is a book for me.

The way Claire's character is described by Evan resonates with me, as everyone who knows me says that I have two speeds .... fast and faster! I am certainly never one to put off until tomorrow things I can do today and the only time I truly relax, is when I am in bed getting my five hours sleep. I am also very much an early morning person, definitely my best time of the day.

Thanks for sharing and I hope that you enjoy the rest of the story.

What an honor to have you stop by my little corner (livingonborroweddays.com)! I say that because you are an author and have written a book and GAH! I'm just giddy! I enjoyed your teaser for today. I love the descriptive detail on this girl's hair!

    1. I try to feature authors whose works are either self-published or released by small publishers. Those authors don't have the publicity that's available for New York Times best-sellers but their books are still wonderful.
