Saturday Snapshot - Tulips

I'm so ready for springtime! So, in an attempt to banish my late winter blahs, I'm posting a few photos from last year's Skagit Tulip Festival near Mt. Vernon and LaConner, Washington. (Click on the photos to enlarge them.) These photos were taken April 17, 2013. More info about the festival HERE.

I couldn't resist including a photo of my daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by West Metro Mommy Reads. To participate, post a photo on your blog that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky on today's West Metro Mommy Reads blog post. Then check out all the beautiful photos posted by everyone! Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.

    1. I couldn't believe how many tulips there were -- field after field in every color you can imagine. It was breath-taking and a fun outing for my D-I-L, granddaughter, and me.

  3. Imagine if you lived in Quebec where we have been snowed under since mid-November? Even though x-country skiing opens up contact with the season, it is starting to get a little long in the tooth here. Thx for the cheer!

    1. A mixture of rain and snow is predicted here (Pacific Northwest) for Sunday, but I doubt if it will stick. Although I loved skiing when I was younger, I don't think I'd like to live in an area where there was a lot of snow.

  4. Sandra, your photos are so beautiful! I need some of that sunshine right now. New Jersey is 17 degrees and we're supposed to get our 14th or 15th snow storm this coming weeks. Thanks for giving me hope. Have a great day!

    1. I'll bet there are lots of flowers starting to bloom in Charleston at this time of year. Then you have azaleas to look forward to, too!

  6. I could spend hours out there photographing those tulips. Pity Washington state is so far away. Thanks for sharing them with us.

    1. I lived in South Florida for many years, and I missed having springtime bulbs. However, I did enjoy bougainvillea, bottle brush trees, tulip trees, bromeliads, and other gorgeous tropical plants growing in my yard.
