The author writes: Can Drew overcome the barriers that stand between him, the safety of his friends and family, and a life with the woman he loves? To do it all, he has to be strong. Stronger than the rest.
Book Beginning:
"Get up, MacLaren," a tall, burly man sneered before yanking him out of his wheelchair, kicking the contraption against a wall, and breaking a wheel. "I knew you could make it up -- one way or another," his attacker smirked and turned to the others at the table.
Friday 56 (from 56% on my Kindle):
Tess melted into his arms. She was totally unprepared for the warmth that swam over her body. She could smell the mixture of pine soap and fresh sweat and couldn't stop herself from running her fingers along his cheek bones, and wrapping her hands around his neck to draw him closer. She never wanted the kiss to stop.

Hi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteWhilst I am not a huge fan of this kind of romantic romp, I sincerely believe that each and every genre of books has its place on the shelves in my library, and that includes this one!
That opening passage would rile me enough to want (make that need!) to keep reading, just to find out if Drew's assailant gets his comeuppence, either now, or in the future!
Nice post this week and I hope that you have a nice weekend planned,
Yvonne
I have certain types of books I prefer and others that I generally don't read, but like you, I'm open minded. Sometimes I'll read one of my husband's sci-fi or thriller novels or try a book that someone posts about in their blog, just for a change of pace. I'm rarely disappointed.
DeleteThank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I appreciate that.
Thanks for stopping by, Shirleen. It's always fun to have an author answer questions and reply to comments. I enjoyed introducing Drew MacLaren to Friday56 and Book Beginnings on Friday participants.
ReplyDeleteI love that cover!
ReplyDeleteYanking a guy outta his wheelchair... oh my!
That 56 is pretty hot & romantic though!
Happy weekend & happy Valentines day!
Yeah, that guy in the opening was a real baddie, wasn't he? Glad you liked the 56!
DeleteThank you for visiting.
Thanks for the comment on the cover
DeleteYes, the intro is a little intense. Really, who yanks someone out of a wheelchair? Only in a romance....
Great teasers! Not loving the bully in the beginning, but I'm glad the girl is swooning over someone later ;)
ReplyDeleteIt turned out that the beginning showed the action in the book and 56% showed the romance! It's a good story.
DeleteYour'e right, Jenny. There are some real bads guys in this book but also some very good ones. And some very hot cowboys!
DeleteOne more Thank You, Sandy! Great comments by your readers--I resally enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone enjoys their weekend!
Shirleen
