Multnomah Falls, in northwestern Oregon, about 30 miles east of Portland. The falls is 620 ft / 189 meters tall. |
In January 2014 a falling boulder took out a section of the bridge shown in the photo above. It has since been repaired. |
Snoqualmie Falls, Washington - 268 ft (82 m) - located about 30 miles east of Seattle |
This photo was taken near the bottom of the falls. I wish you could hear the roar! |

Oh I do love a good waterfall!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that both you and Melinda posted a pic of the same one :-)
Quite a coincidence, isn't it?
DeleteYes how funny to see the same waterfall twice today- but it is a very picturesque waterfall. I wish we could hear the roar too!
ReplyDeleteMultnomah Falls is one of the most beautiful in our area and easily accessible. I'm sure there are plenty more for me to discover!
DeleteSandra, have you ever gotten to Niagara Falls? No matter how many times I go I'm always in awe. Putting these two falls on our to see list for retirement!
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't been to Niagara Falls but I'd love to visit. From photos I've seen, I'm sure it's amazing.
DeleteYou're fortunate to be living in a land of magnificent waterfalls. Amazing just to look at their photos, and twice in one morning of the Multnomah Falls. And that reminds me, we do share the Niagara, but it's just too far for me. The Multnomah is closer. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'll make it to Niagara one of these days!
DeleteYou are lucky to have such wonderful waterfalls in your area. There is nothing like that in Virginia though we did have some nice ones within a few hours of my home town in Australia.

Both my husband and I were raised in North Texas and we also lived in Florida for quite a while, so this Pacific Northwest terrain is a delight to us. We're exploring it more and more.
DeleteI also love waterfalls...and your neck of the woods. I haven't been up there in a while; in 2007, I attended a wedding near Seattle, spending the whole weekend on San Juan Island. Loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
We haven't made it to the San Juans but hope to go there before the summer is over. I'll take pictures!
DeleteSomething about the water crashing down that's so appealing. How nice to have them nearby. There are very few waterfalls where I live near Chicago, although there are some if I drive a few hours south to one of the state parks.
ReplyDeleteWe have been to that beautiful Multnomah Falls! It was two summers ago. Scary to think that a rock hit the bridge. Must add the waterfall in Washington to my bucket list.
ReplyDeleteIt's worth seeing, especially in springtime when the river is swollen with snow melt. But it's pretty any time of year.
DeleteWow. Love the waterfalls, especially the shot taken between two trees. Here is my post: http://tinyurl.com/n53ugk9
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful and awe-inspiring sights. I love the sound of waterfalls, too! So much louder than I imagine when I'm looking at pictures.
ReplyDeleteWe had to shout to be heard over the water's roar. Amazing.
DeleteGosh, I've just been looking at that waterfall. What a strange coincidence.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that West Metro Mommy Reads and I both posted a photo of the same waterfall on the same day!
DeleteI love waterfalls too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
I love waterfalls, and these are both quite impressive.
