Here's the Book Beginning:
Mandy Wagner stretched out on the chaise lounge by the pool, coffee cup in hand, to watch dawn break over the horizon, as she did almost every morning. With Fall in full swing, the air was crisp and cool, making her wish she'd grabbed a blanket before coming outside.
Sounds like a good way to start the day, doesn't it?
And this Friday 56 excerpt is from 56% on my Kindle:
Beginning at her ankles, he massaged her legs all the way to the top of her thighs and down again. Muscles she didn't even know she had turned to mush.
Ooooh, that sounds heavenly!

Hi Sandra,
ReplyDeleteIt is 6am on a dark, damp morning, here in the UK, so your book opening sounds good right now, although I am not so sure that it isn't a little early to be getting to page 56!!
My book this week is also a western, although mine is more of a mystery, with a hint of romance.
Not a genre I read on a regular basis, but one which seems to be enjoying a resurgence in popularity, here in the UK.
Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing,
Yvonne
Thanks for stopping by, Yvonne. Tori's books are delightful, and I'm sure you'll enjoy them all.
DeleteI have not read many cowboy books but I think I will read one or two! I like the sound of it!
ReplyDeleteHere is my post
Although there are definitely cowboys in this book, I felt it was more about relationships, friendships, and family. After reading this series, I'm ready to move to Morris Springs, Texas!
DeleteDefinitely give them a try. Western romance is growing in popularity by leaps and bounds because they feature strong heroes and strong heroines. No wimps could survive the cowboy way of life. :) Cowboys are all about honor, family, and hard work.
DeleteThanks for sharing this new-to-me series. Sounds very enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteMy Friday post: http://www.bookclublibrarian.com/2014/01/friday-focus-friday-56-book-beginnings_17.html
That sounds like a sexy read. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm featuring a kid's book today at http://www.thebusymomsdaily.com/2014/01/the-friday-56-week-161.html
It's been too long since I read a good cowboy romance...and I love these excerpts! I especially want that massage...lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing...and here's MY FRIDAY POST
Thank you for stopping by. When I clicked on 56% on my Kindle and saw those sentences, I knew they were the ones I HAD to feature. I want that massage too!
DeleteStrong hands, soft skin--they just go together, don't they? :)
DeleteThanks for featuring Between Lonesome and Texas, Sandra! I've really enjoyed writing this series. I'm working on book 6, which will probably be the last. I'll really miss these characters!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to reading Book 6, and I'm curious to see which characters you'll feature this time. Thanks again for stopping by my blog today.
DeleteI recently gave the first book of the series to 7 friends and everyone one of them is now a Tori Scott fan and they love me even more than ever. lol.
ReplyDeleteThank you! That was sweet. I need a friend like you. :)
DeleteI'm not a bit surprised that your friends were delighted with their gifts. Tori's stories are captivating.
DeleteThank you, Sandra!
DeleteEvery time I see a western, I think of my dad. Of course I had to read them too. Thanks for sharing and stopping by my blog.

Have a great weekend.
This is a great story. Not only is it a romance set in Texas, it's also a saga of family and friendship that spans all the books in the series.
DeleteSounds like a great book and how very cool to have the author of your featured book popping in to say hi. I've got Blame it On Texas in my TBR pile - I think it's high time I move it closer to the top so I can get it read and become the next fan of Tori Scott! :)
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled that Tori Scott agreed to participate in today's post. You'll definitely enjoy her books.
DeleteThanks Lesley! I hope you enjoy it!
DeleteYou have to love those Texas books. This is a series that I have not read but it sounds like fun.

My Book Beginnings
I like both the snippets; I may need to see if my library has this. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteBea, it may not be in the libraries yet. It's a fairly recent release, and it usually takes a little while for Indie books to make it there. If it isn't, requesting it might get it there a little sooner. Good luck!
Deletesounds great, especially when it's so cold out there.... writing from hellish Chicago winter
ReplyDeleteSexy excerpt for The Friday 56
ReplyDeletethnks for visiting my blog
Ruty
Thank you so much for the kind words, ladies. If you do get the book, I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteHi Tori, I'm not usually a fan of cowboy romances, but with all the great reviews from the comments here, I really feel like I should try them! =) In any case, thanks for writing the books. We always need more authors who write great stories. =)
DeleteI hope you do try them, Hazel. Cowboys can be a lot of fun!
DeleteThanks for the visit Sandy, Happy New Year! Who'd turn down a massage from a sexy cowboy? ;)
ReplyDeleteI sure wouldn't!
DeleteNot me!
DeleteOooohhh, I love beautiful mornings and I love massages! Thanks for sharing these sentences, Sandra, just imagining them makes me happy! =)
ReplyDeleteThere is just something ruggedly sexy about cowboys! Love it!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Probably not a book I'd read, but I do like the sound of that massage! Happy reading, and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Makes me envision myself getting that massage!!!
