#Coffee for Soggiest January in #Seattle

The Seattle Times headline said: "It's been one of the soggiest Januarys ever in Seattle--and more is on the way." Twenty-eight straight days of rain! How do we cope? One word: Coffee.

Drive-thru coffee stands like this one dot major streets in western Washington state.

Most of them have more personality that the one above, however... like Cowgirls Cup.

With its spout, Perky's is supposed to resemble a coffee pot.

Gravity Coffee, across the street from the fairgrounds in Puyallup, has a Pacific Northwest vibe.

This pink coffee hut is a bright spot on a dreary day.

Southern Charm Espresso draws in customers by offering a "Rusty Cowboy." Based on the condition of the pickup truck, it looks like they've reached their target consumer.

Castle Perk's regal structure surely appeals to a higher class coffee enthusiast.

With locations everywhere, there's always a Starbucks nearby.

These are just some of the Starbucks locations in King County, Washington.

Saturday Snapshots - More Coffee, Please

When my husband and I went on a photo safari of our area (Seattle suburbs) to find more coffee kiosks, we came up with quite a few! So I'm continuing last week's post. This time we tried to capture the surroundings where the shops are situated. The photos I've posted were taken around two o'clock in the afternoon, and only one of the baristas had a customer (Sweet Cheeks Espresso). I hope these little independent businesses are able to survive.

Java 2 Go is located in the parking lot of a closed ARCO gas station.
Heather's Coffee Shop is next to an auto detail business and
across the road from car dealerships.
Baristas "World Famous Costume Coffee" is right outside
the door of the Royal "A" Motel.
Between you and me, this wouldn't be my first choice for lodging.
We found Jump Shot Espresso in the parking lot
of a small shopping center.
There's an antique store right across the parking lot
from Sweet Cheeks Espresso. (Bikini baristas.)
On this beautiful day Mount Rainier was out in all its glory.
We never get tired of seeing it!

Here's the link to my earlier posting of coffee kiosks: HERE

I hope you enjoyed another tour of the coffee emporiums in my little area of the Pacific Northwest. One of these days I'll stop by and do taste tests of their offerings!

Snapshot Saturday - Coffee+Pacific Northwest

Seattle and Coffee.
It's true. There's a coffee kiosk on just about every corner in my part of the world. Even with a population of only 70,000 people, the small Washington town where I live has dozens of drive-thru coffee shops. Here are photos of a few that thrive just a few miles from my home.

BigFoot Java - a local coffee chain
This structure ("Cowgirls Coffee") is actually shaped like a tea kettle (see the handle on the right?)
I couldn't get a photo of the whole thing, including the spout, without risking my life in traffic!
In case you can't decipher it, that says "Bikini Baristas."

Looks homey, doesn't it? The drive-thru is around back.
