According to Washington State Magazine:
"Their skin is thin and sensitive. They’re easily bruised. And their season—six to seven weeks, if we’re lucky—is more fleeting than summer itself. That short harvest time and extreme susceptibility to wind and rain and temperatures either too hot or too cold are just a couple of reasons why Rainier cherries are so special."

When I first saw your photo, I thought I was looking at plums. I guess I think of cherries as only being red in color. I noticed one of them looks bruised. You must not have been gentle enough with that one; either that, or it got its feelings hurt.

Cherries are a favorite treat of my family. I haven't seen the rainier cherries here yet, but we have enjoyed the traditional red or bing cherry once so far this season. Have a great week!

oh yes! Whenever I see Rainier cherries I also buy them as they are the sweetest.
