At Home in Springtime

The world may be in lockdown, but nobody told the flowers! When we bought our house in the Pacific Northwest U.S., I knew the previous owner had been an avid gardener. Now I'm enjoying the benefits of her hard work.

Clematis

Lilac

These climbing yellow roses have a delightful scent.

A few tulips that the deer missed!

Viburnum

Bleeding hearts.

Rhododendron (and bear, on lookout duty)

I hope everyone is healthy and coping well.

  3. That's a good point. No-one told the birds or the bees either. Lovely flowers you have there.

  4. Your flowers are beautiful ... I am grateful to be home in the PNW this year, seeing some of those same flowers in real life for the first time in a long while! Can’t get enough of them. (And thank goodness Covid hasn’t affected nature..,unless, according to some things I’ve read, to make it better!).

  5. I love flowers. My wife is gardening like crazy this year and I'm enjoying the fruits of her labor.

Is the bear part of a neighborhood hunt for children? Our neighborhood as something similar going on.

  6. I should have explained about the bear. The idea is that children walking around the neighborhood can go on a bear hunt, finding as many bears (or other stuffed animals) as possible. Since my granddaughter's bear was just sitting around doing nothing, I put it to work.

  11. Lovely photos, lovely flowers! Now I know what clematis and viburnum are. Who knew? I always thought that flower you call viburnum was a kind of hydrangea (:

  13. Those blooms are very beautiful and makes me super happy! My brother had stories for me about Oregon and how beautiful flowers were on that area, but I have seen some as well on Seattle during a visit and I was super happy with it!

Thank you so much for visiting my blog :)

  15. With all the floral beauty you probably do not miss the Texas Bluebonnets. Having lived in Dallas for 20 years I was so amazed by the sea of color around the highways. Stay safe and enjoy the great outdoors.

  17. I live in another part of the world and I am a little surprised that in the United States grows lilacs, exactly the same as in my yard. Super!
