Eat. Eggs. NOW. My brother, mom, and me at an Easter egg hunt (Dallas, TX) |
White anklets, patent leather shoes, bowtie. Yep, that's the Fifties, all right! How 'bout that TV and those curtains? |
Fancy hats, Easter purses, and dig that crazy jacket! |
Giant Mutant Bunnies! I'm surprised we didn't run screaming from these creepy critters. |
I'm not so sure this is a good idea |
I hope these pictures brought back good memories for you or at least gave you a smile.
Happy Easter!

What a lovely selection of shots. I love your mum's frills in the first one, but those bunnies are a bit scarey.
ReplyDeleteThat style of blouse was called a "peasant blouse" -- back in the 1950s and early 1960s in Texas. I loved them and had several myself.
DeleteWhat fabulous photos. I love old photos. Love all the clothes here but particularly your dress in the second picture.
ReplyDeleteI love looking at clothing styles in old photos too. I could have included photos of my Easter dresses from every year, but didn't want the post to be too long. Thank you for dropping by.
DeleteThanks for sharing. The culture of the 50's and 60's has always fascinated me.

Life was much simpler back then -- at least in my world!
DeleteI write this as we are visiting Fort Worth where we will be for Easter weekend!! Those bunnies would have scared me!! We are of the same age as I look at the fashions and styles in your photos.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun looking back at styles from the past, isn't it? I hope you're enjoying your visit to Fort Worth.
DeleteWow, those pix take me back! Patent leather shoes and Easter hats. We always had to have a hat, too. Remember that song "In your Easter bonnet..."? Now you have inspired me to look for my really old pictures. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteHave fun looking at your old photos. I had a great time finding these for today's post.
DeleteLovely pictures and memories. How huge those bunnies are!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if most children are intimidated by huge characters in costume? I sure was!
DeleteThose giant bunnies are a bit overwhelming. These photos made me want to look back through family photos to find old easter shots of my family of origin, too. My Snapshot Saturday highlights tulips
ReplyDeleteI had fun looking through photos for this post.
DeleteHow cute you all are! Happy Easter, Sandy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Irma. Happy Easter to you too!
DeleteLove looking at photos from that era. The drapes in our living room were very similar!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you enjoyed my old pictures.
Deleteprecious :)
ReplyDeleteThese completely took me back in time...I love them! What made me laugh the most were the drapes! I think we all had the same ones!!!
