Book Beginning:
Diane trudged across the wooden porch and stepped into the hall with her prized gold-and-green Tiffany lamp cradled to her chest. "I hate moving day. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it."
Friday 56 (from 56% on my Kindle):
"This is nice. This is how I always saw myself in the future. I'd come home from a long day's work, sit on the couch next to a fine woman and just enjoy the moment."
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Length: 67 Pages
Amazon Link: MOVING IN
Synopsis from Goodreads:
When Diane and Trigvey move into the same building on the same day, more than their suitcases get tangled up.
All his life Trigvey never once doubted his calling to be a doctor, but an accident in the ER has him doubting himself. Diane's willingness to listen helps him get his head on straight. If only he felt worthy of a woman like her.
Diane is the kind of woman who would love to be someone's wife. Not a trophy wife, or simply married, but the kind of wife whose job is to stay home and take care of the family, even if the family is only a husband. She feeds Trigvey and consoles him, and doesn't even know she has him wrapped around her finger. Jilted for a career-woman and raised by a bitter divorcée, Diane no longer believes in that dream. It's up to Trigvey to convince her it could still be real, if she chooses him.

I like the cover too. The story takes place in an older home like the one shown on the cover.
DeleteI got lucky on the cover. It isn't anything like what I asked for, but still good.
DeleteSounds like a cute read ;)
ReplyDeleteWe don't see enough funny books! This one sounds like a good one :)

My Book Beginnings
Great choice, Sandra. Although I dread the the thought of actually packing and moving.
ReplyDeleteMy Friday post: http://www.bookclublibrarian.com/2014/05/friday-focus-friday-56-book-beginnings.html
This looks cute. I don't often read novelettes, but I should so I could feel like I am reading more.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll visit http://www.thebusymomsdaily.com/2014/05/the-friday-56-week-177.html
Oh, this sounds good, Sandra. I share the sentiments of Diane in the opening. I, too, HATE moving!

Book Dilettante
Oh that sounds like a fun book! I love the beginning of it. I'll definitely have to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteIt's a sweet story.
DeleteI hope you do. ;)
DeleteSound like a story I would like and it would take all day to read. Thanks for visiting and yes that series needs to be started at book 1
ReplyDeleteI liked the characters. It was a quick read too.
DeleteSeems like everyone who commented on today's post hates moving! Have you ever heard of anyone say, "I love moving!" ?? I haven't.
ReplyDeleteUm... that might be me. So ironic, I know. When I was in college I moved every year. I even thought it might be nice to live in a camper.
DeleteSorry I'm so late to the party. Sandra, I am thrilled that you read and enjoyed the book. Thank you for featuring me today. I added a link to this post in the "Reviews" section of my sidebar.
ReplyDeleteMoving In is so sweet because it was written specifically for a sweet line. My editor approached me and asked that I write it for her. It's part of my Suzie's House series, which is posted every Wednesday afternoon and is my only professionally published book. So far. ;)
I'd like to see more books from you. I also know that's easier said than done! Thanks for stopping by to add your comments.
DeleteI have four rough drafts set in the same world (same characters and setting) that I planned on self publishing this year. I'm not sure if I'll have them ready before the end of the year or not. A lot depends on my ability to find a good proof reader. I've already burned through two of them.
DeleteLovely to read that you're enjoying this one Sandra, and it sounds a nice shorter length to read. I didn't enjoy our last moving day. Thanks very much for commenting on my post today too :) Lindsay
ReplyDeleteAlthough I did enjoy getting our first house when my husband and I first married, I can't say that I enjoyed the moving process! It's just exhausting, and there always seem to be glitches.
DeleteOh boy, he's carrying a heavy load. He made a mistake in the ER. He really needs her support.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a nice, quick read.
ReplyDeleteI hate moving too... until it's over. :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Same here!
DeleteI'd probably be saying some harsher words than hate it! I do hate moving but I love when everything comes together. Always surprises what I find when unpacking. LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend and Happy Mothers Day Sandra:)
Thank you for leaving a comment and for the Mothers' Day wishes. I hope you have a terrific weekend.
DeleteThis one sounds lovely! And short, which I like a lot. Oh, and I hate moving day, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat #56! I love this..."just enjoying the moment." Hope your weekend is filled with treasured moments!
ReplyDeleteMoving day is always stressful. But the 56 is worth it! Enjoy your weekend :)
