Saturday Snapshot - Camellias & Other Beauties

Three reasons why I love springtime
in the Pacific Northwest.
(Click on photos for larger view.)

Crocus blooms have disappeared since I took this photo. Notice the bee in the lower right-hand corner?
Hyacinth are going strong.
And we'll have camellias any day now.

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by West Metro Mommy Reads. To participate, post a photo on your blog that you (or a friend or family member) have taken. Then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky on today's West Metro Mommy Reads blog post. Then check out all the beautiful photos posted by everyone! Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online.

  1. I'm not certain, but I don't think we have any of these flowers here in my part of Texas. Too hot, I think, for these beauties.

    Thanks for sharing them!

    1. Although I write with a Texas twang and I'm a Texas native, I now live in the Pacific Northwest. I don't remember seeing these blooms when I lived in Southeast Texas, but I do remember seeing camellias when I lived in North Texas.

    1. We've had a mild winter, but I still am delighted when the first springtime blooms appear.

  3. Aren't you lucky. We still have a bit more snow than those lovely's could handle. I don't think we have any camellias at all, too cold.

  6. Nice photos of the blossoms. I am waiting for my rose bushes to bloom but it hasn't been warm enough yet. Hopefully they will burst out in bloom before too long.

    1. My rose bushes are just starting to have leaves on them. It will be quite a while before there are blooms.

  8. Great pictures! Nothing in our yard is blooming yet (but my Christmas Cactus is flowering...go figure!), but I see buds out there! Spring is coming!

  9. Oh! I am dreaming of the days when we'll see crocus and hyacinths ... no camellias this far North though ... forsythia though and early rhododendrons! I may go out and cut some forsythia to force this week ... I'm THAT starved for Springtime!

  10. Wonderful to see flowers. No sign of them yet here in Chicago. I have to go to the Flower and Garden Show this week if I want my dose of spring!
