Between Lonesome and Texas - Friday 56 and Book Beginnings on Friday

19009667
In this fifth book of the Lone Star Cowboys series, author Tori Scott continues her stories set in Morris Springs, Texas. This time she takes her readers on the rodeo circuit with bull rider Blake Kaufman, a star in the most dangerous rodeo event I've ever witnessed. But is the rodeo life what Blake wants? Will he give up his chance at a national championship for the woman he loves?

Here's the Book Beginning:
Mandy Wagner stretched out on the chaise lounge by the pool, coffee cup in hand, to watch dawn break over the horizon, as she did almost every morning. With Fall in full swing, the air was crisp and cool, making her wish she'd grabbed a blanket before coming outside.

Sounds like a good way to start the day, doesn't it?

And this Friday 56 excerpt is from 56% on my Kindle:
Beginning at her ankles, he massaged her legs all the way to the top of her thighs and down again. Muscles she didn't even know she had turned to mush.

Ooooh, that sounds heavenly!

  1. Hi Sandra,

It is 6am on a dark, damp morning, here in the UK, so your book opening sounds good right now, although I am not so sure that it isn't a little early to be getting to page 56!!

My book this week is also a western, although mine is more of a mystery, with a hint of romance.

Not a genre I read on a regular basis, but one which seems to be enjoying a resurgence in popularity, here in the UK.

Have a great weekend and thanks for sharing,

    Yvonne

    1. Although there are definitely cowboys in this book, I felt it was more about relationships, friendships, and family. After reading this series, I'm ready to move to Morris Springs, Texas!

    2. Definitely give them a try. Western romance is growing in popularity by leaps and bounds because they feature strong heroes and strong heroines. No wimps could survive the cowboy way of life. :) Cowboys are all about honor, family, and hard work.

    1. Bea, it may not be in the libraries yet. It's a fairly recent release, and it usually takes a little while for Indie books to make it there. If it isn't, requesting it might get it there a little sooner. Good luck!
